Ruby Hartman Porr, 61, of Middletown passed away at her home on August 21, 2012. She was born on April 13, 1951, daughter to the late Henry K. and Alma K. (Large) Hartman. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Deere.
She graduated from Temple University, at Harrisburg, in 1999 with a Masters of Science in Social Work. She had taught at Harrisburg Area Community College as recently as the 2012 Spring Semester. She was a member of the PA Chapter of The National Association of Social Workers. She was a licensed clinical Social Worker. She was a disaster mental health volunteer with the American Red Cross, and was a member of the critical incident stress management teams for Dauphin and Lancaster Counties. She was alsoa member of Chambers Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Robert S. Porr; sister, Vicki Kirkland and her husband Les, of Fayette, OH; brother, Richard Hartman of Harrisburg; brother, Jesse Hartman and his wife, Jetta, of Colonial Park; twin brother, Charles Hartman and his wife, Rena of Colonial Park; brother William Hartman and his wife, Lola of Hummelstown; and numerous nieces and nephews in all of whom she took interest and delight.
A memorial service will be held at Chambers Hill United Methodist Church, 6300 Chambers Hill Road, Harrisburg, on Monday, August 27th, at 11:00AM with Pastor Franklin Miller officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00AM. Private interment will be in Columbia Hill Cemetery, West Hemlock Twp., Montour County, PA.
